CAMPAIGNS

Live-In Caregiver - the program of the Federal government that place Filipino women into an oppressive and exploitative situation. A big number of Filipinos that came in to Canada in the last 15 years are through this racist Federal program.

Scrap the new POEA guidelines - the new guidelines of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration is another scheme to extort money from Filipino migrants. This new scheme particularly targets Filipino domestic helpers leaving for work abroad.

$10 Minimum Wage Campaign - Lead by the Labour Council, this province-wide campaign is focused on alleviating the living standards of the low-income earners. Majority of the people earning a living wage are migrants including the Filipino community and people of color.

Stop the Killings in the Philippines - There has been more than 850 workers, church-people, women, peasants, lawyers have been executed since 2001. this killings are targeting progressive individuals that belong in peoples organizations and party lists. The UN Human Rights Rapporteur himself said that the military is in a state of denial on the extrajudicial killings in the country.
